BREAKING: Diddy is paying Sting $5,000 a day for the rest of his life for this reason. He asked me to…see more

In a surprising twist of digital discourse, Sean “Diddy” Combs recently ignited a flurry of social media activity with his facetious remark concerning royalties paid to Sting.:

Initially, Diddy claimed a daily payment of $5,000, which has since been retracted, revealing a playful banter between two music icons.

Sean « Diddy » Combs recently used social media to engage with his fans in a playful manner that has stirred quite a bit of attention.

The music mogul, at 53, found himself revisiting a claim from a few years ago regarding the royalties he allegedly pays Sting for sampling « Every Breath You Take » in his 1997 tribute to Notorious B.I.G., « I’ll Be Missing You. »

Diddy’s initial tweet corrected an old video where Sting jokingly claimed he receives $2,000 a day from the rapper. Diddy’s correction? A whopping $5,000 daily.

Clarification Amidst Misunderstandings

However, the situation took a turn when Diddy returned to Twitter to clarify his statements. The three-time Grammy winner tweeted out a clarification that he was just kidding about the entire scenario.

« I want y’all to understand I was joking! » he expressed, educating his followers on the nature of being facetious. His admission was not only a reveal that no such daily payments were made but also a nod to his longstanding friendship with Sting.

Diddy further elaborated that he has never actually paid any daily royalties to Sting for the use of the song. He highlighted their friendly relationship, dismissing the idea that Sting would charge him $3,000 or $5,000 daily for « I’ll Be Missing You. »

He also alluded to the massive earnings Sting likely garners from the track, hinting that the figure would surpass any supposed daily payments, reinforcing the song’s status as one of the biggest hits in music history.
