Liverpool are BEATEN in first match under Arne Slot – as Mohamed Salah, Harvey Elliott, Dominik Szoboszlai all feature in behind-closed-doors pre-season friendly by Preston

In their debut game under new manager Arne Slot, Liverpool lost.

After taking over for Jurgen Klopp at Anfield on a three-year contract from Feyenoord, the Dutchman began his official head coaching career on June 1.

Last week marked the official start of the new era at Anfield as Slot and his backroom team put a number of players through their paces following their vacations.

And on Friday, the AXA Training Centre saw Liverpool play Championship team Preston in a behind-closed doors preseason friendly, further stepping up preparations for the upcoming campaign.

Robbie Brady’s long-range shot proved to be the game’s lone goal as the Reds lost 1-0.
